Batwater Station, located on the Columbia River is a very special farm. All of our broodmares and young stock live here. Eight months of the year pastures are lush and green. Mares with foals, yearlings, two and three year olds spend spring, summer, and fall in large 30 acre fields. Foals learn respect through interaction with other mares, explore their surroundings and play with each other. Yearlings, two and three year olds are placed together in another field where they continue to grow on lush pastures. As yearlings they learn respect from the 2 year olds. As two years olds they learn how to be bold and assertive. We believe that these interactions create a horse with a great disposition. These horses make great riding horses when started.
Batwater's pier is connected to deck with kitchen, bathroom and shower room. A large brick barbecue is used often during the summer months. We have two new residents at Batwater. These bald eagles showed up in 2003 and have been residents ever since. You often here them before spotting them in the landscape.
